commentMidwest Construction presents its annual list of Top Project Starts, which ranks projects that broke ground in 2009 by their contract cost.
To accurately reflect the diversity of the five-state region’s construction markets, lists are arranged as Top 5 rankings in Illinois, Indiana, East Missouri and Wisconsin.
Sources used to create the list included an on-line survey at www.midwest.construction.com; McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge; state economic development agencies; a comprehensive database of contractors and designers; back issues of Midwest Construction; and various other sources.
Every effort was made to obtain accurate and complete information, and all project information was verified with project owners and/or general contractors.
The projects that follow began their construction phase in 2009. Therefore, there may be sizable active projects that are not included in the list because they initiated construction prior to or after 2009.
Projects that begin construction this year are eligible to be considered for next year’s list.
