The creative roadway solution called for converting Keystone into a four-lane parkway with full access, grade-separated, roundabout interchanges in order to enhance traffic flow while improving safety and access for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The six interchanges incorporate an innovative double-teardrop shape, said to be the tightest in the nation and the first of its kind in Indiana.
The project has earned national recognition for its innovation and potential viability in other U.S. communities.
