Lambeau Wins Precast Award
Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., has won recognition for
architectural precast.
The project took top honors in the Architectural Precast Association's
Awards for Design & Manufacturing Excellence Competition.
The APA is based in Fort Myers, Fla.
The judges said, "The palette of rich materials, dynamic
set of forms and the details make this entry the most sophisticated
project in the competition. The mammoth form of a football
stadium is broken down by the creative use of precast, brick
and steel with a design appropriately scaled and not overly
repetitious like most stadiums."
Lambeau was designed by Kansas City, Mo.-based Ellerbe Becket
Inc. The precast manufacturer was Germantown, Wis.-based International
Concrete Products Inc.
