The program's purpose is
to recognize outstanding achievement in industrial and office real estate in the
Chicago area.
Caterpillar's Shaheen Named Equipment Chief Gerald
Shaheen, group president of Peoria-based Caterpillar Inc., was elected 2006 chairman
of the Milwaukee-based Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
Another
Midwesterner was elected an officer, Treasurer William Desmond, vice president
distribution planning and development of Komatsu America Corp. in Vernon Hills.
Robert
Kolb, vice president marketing - Americas region of Naperville-based WestfaliaSurge
Inc., was elected to the board of directors.
In other news, the AEM has
recently moved to a new address: 6737 W. Washington St. Suite 2400, Milwaukee,
WI 53214. Phone, fax and Internet information remains unchanged.
The AEM
represents off-road equipment manufacturers.
Niehoff to Lead Sheet Metal Group William Niehoff
Jr., president of Lemont-based Fresh Aire Test & Balance, was installed as
president of the Chicagoland Sheet Metal Contractors Association.
Also
installed were Vice President Jack Baer, executive with Broadview-based Air Comfort
Corp., and Secretary-Treasurer Patrick Ludvigsen, secretary-treasurer of Prospect
Heights-based Air Dynamics Inc.
John Harmon, president of Crestwood-based
Builders Heating Inc. was installed for a three-year term on the Board of Directors.
John
Delano, president of Chicago-based William J. Perkinson, is the group's immediate
past president.
Five
Midwest Students Get A.O. Smith Scholarships Midwest students recently
won five of the 10 $2,000 scholarships from the Ashland City, Tenn.-based A.O.
Smith Water Products Co. as part of its Professional Contractor Association program.
Margaret Bertram, daughter of Patrick and Amy Bertram of Fond du Lac, representing
Ahern Gross Plumbing in Fond du Lac.
Kelly Jansen, daughter of Andrew
and Lisa Jansen of Neoga, Ill., representing Wente Plumbing & Heating in Effingham.
Eric Mueller, son of John and the late Sandy Mueller of Chilton, Wis., representing

Stephanie Schumacher, daughter of

The other winners were outside the four-state
Midwest region.
The program was launched to encourage continued education
for PCA members and their families. The PCA was founded by A.O. Smith to offer
plumbing contractors business training, expand business into new commercial water
heater markets and other services.
