Design-Build Chapter Formed in NE Indiana
The formation was announced of the Northeastern Indiana Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America’s Great Lakes Region. It is reportedly the second chapter in the region.
The Northeastern Chapter includes Fort Wayne and surrounding communities. Earlier this year, the national DBIA transformed the Great Lakes chapter into a region so it can conduct its own programs while assisting others who want to form chapters in other areas of the region. The region is comprised of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin. Early indications are that Chapters are forming in Chicago, South Bend and Detroit.
Brad Smith of Fort Wayne-based Hagerman Construction Corp. was named chairman of the Northeastern Chapter. He will also serve as a representative to the region’s Board of Directors when it meets at its headquarters in Indianapolis. The board is assisted by Executive Director Libby Denehie and long-time industry consultant Gary Price.
Smith will collaborate with other members in the Northeast Indiana Chapter as they seek to provide programs, activities and services of value to local members. The chapter will also promote membership and participation in DBIA national.
For information, call Denehie at the region’s headquarters, 317-328-2148.
