| Alberici HQ Gets
Platinum Rating St. Louis-based general contractor Alberici Corp. has announced
that it recently received a top sustainable award.
The company's headquarters
received a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Platinum rating from the
Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council for new construction.
The
facility is the only Platinum building in Missouri, and one of nine Platinum-certified,
newly constructed buildings in the world.
The Green Building Rating System
is a standard that measures sustainability, and the Platinum certification
is the highest.
The building was rated under six categories, site sustainability,
water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental
quality and innovative design.

of Downtown is an association dedicated to intelligent planning and urban
design for downtown Chicago.
Two
Illinois Projects Win Landscape Awards Two Illinois projects were recipients
of 2005 Professional Awards from the Washington, D.C.-based American Society of
Landscape Architects.
The Illinois Institute of Technology campus
in Chicago won an Award of Honor in the General Design Category.
Honorees
include Chicago-based Peter Lindsay Schaudt Landscape Architecture Inc., in
addition to IIT.
The Calumet Plans project won an Award of Honor in
the Analysis & Planning category.
Honorees include the City of Chicago's
Department of Planning, Chicago-based Wolff Clements & Associates and
Wheaton-based Planning Resources Inc.
There were 31 other winners outside
of the Midwest, the ASLA said. There were a total of 520 entries in the competition.
Hasbrouck
Joins Lucien Lagrange Charles Hasbrouck has joined Chicago-based design
firm Lucien Lagrange Architects as a principal.
Hasbrouck, 45, was founding
principal of Chicago-based Gonzalez Hasbrouck, where he managed architectural
and engineering services for a range of projects, including office buildings,
schools and transit stations. Earlier in his career, he was an associate and project
manager with Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLC.
HarleyEllis
Merges With Rodie/Scherrer Chicago-based architecture firm HarleyEllis
has announced its merger with Rodie/Scherrer Inc., a Chicago architecture firm
specializing in healthcare and commercial office projects.
Rodie/Scherrer
has more than 30 years of healthcare and commercial project experience in the
Chicago area. Several of the firm's more visible commercial projects include Harry
Caray's River North Restaurant, corporate offices for Field Enterprises and The
Garden Plaza for The Northern Trust Bank.
HarleyEllis offers services that
include strategic planning, design, construction and facility management. It focuses
on health care, university, science and research, automotive, civic and corporate
customers.
