Varsity Assignment At Notre Dame
The Don F. and Flora Guglielmino Family Athletic Center is
planned for the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
The interior will house football locker rooms, offices and
meeting rooms and will provide space for the university's
800 student-athletes. Spaces will be used for training, sports
medicine and conditioning.
The 94,840-sq.-ft. facility will adjoin the west side of the
university's Loftus Center.
Ground break was to occur in the spring, and completion is
expected in fall 2005.
Rosemont, Ill.-based McShane Construction is the design-builder.
Chicago-based Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates Inc.
is the architect.
Ratio Merges With Illinois Design Firm
Indianapolis-based Ratio Architects Inc. has agreed to merge
with Severns, Reid & Associates Inc. of Champaign, Ill.
The Ratio name will be kept, though the Champaign office will
become Ratio Severns Reid Architects for a 12-month transition
period.
The two have collaborated on several projects for the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, including the Irwin Indoor
Football Practice Facility, Memorial Stadium Press Box and
Suite Feasibility Press Box and the Central Campus Chiller
Plant.
