Indiana News - September 2004

Lauth to Expand, Move Headquarters

Indianapolis-based Lauth Property Group has announced it will develop new office buildings and relocate its corporate headquarters to the northeast quadrant of Interstate 465 and Meridian Street.

The firm purchased a three-story office building and the adjacent 15 acres of land in Meridian Corporate Plaza. The plaza is the home of Methodist Medical Plaza and the Wyndham Hotel.

Lauth will relocate its corporate headquarters to the building after it is renovated.
Renovation will begin immediately with an expected completion of September 2004.

About 250,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space will be developed on the adjacent land.

First State Library Certified Green

A library that recently broke ground in Ohio Township near Evansville is reportedly the first in Indiana to be certified as a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design building.

The library will feature substantial daylighting, a raised-floor air plenum, autoclaved aerated concrete wall panels, solar hot water system and photovoltaic panels.

Indianapolis-based Veazey Parrott Durkin & Shoulders is the architect on the project.

Ivy Tech College Expands Campus

The Marion location of Indianapolis-based Ivy Tech State College will receive an $18 million new campus building.

Plans call for classrooms, teaching and science laboratories, bookstore and student spaces.

Ground break was held in summer, and the building is expected to open in 2007.

Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures and Muncie-based Gooden and Ellis Architects will serve as the designers.

Construction is continuing at Ivy Tech's Terra Haute, Valparaiso and Muncie locations.
Ivy Tech has 62,500 students on 23 campuses across the state.
