Study: Unions Solution to Projected Worker Shortfall
An Indiana University study finds that union apprenticeships
could satisfy a shortfall of construction workers projected
in the state in a different study released earlier.
The 22-page IU study, "Analysis of Construction Industry
Apprenticeship Programs in Indiana," was issued in July
by the university's Institute for the Study of Labor in Society.
The report comes on the heels of a prior study from the Indiana
Construction Roundtable that found the state will face construction
worker shortages over the coming years due to a predicted
construction boom.
