Blue Chip Casino Has Expansion

The Blue Chip Casino and Hotel in Michigan City is experiencing a $150 million expansion.

Currently, the Blue Chip Casino and Hotel is situated on 35 acres and hosts more than 42,500 sq. ft. of gaming space on three decks.

The new vessel being constructed by Boca Raton, Fla.-based Jamestown Metal Marine Sales Inc. will be approximately 400 ft. in length with a beam of 200 ft. and provide about 75,000 sq. ft. for gaming on a single deck.

Another 85,000 sq. ft. will be for back of house and future gaming areas on other decks. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2005.

Indianapolis, Developers Revise Market Square Agreement

The city of Indianapolis and Market Square Partners LP have agreed to terms on a revised project agreement that will keep the development of The Residences at Market Square going.

As part of the revised agreement, Market Square Partners is retooling the upscale high-rise development, which calls for two 29-story towers housing more than 400 condominiums, as well as ground level retail space.

Changes include creating new unit types and sizes on the east and west sides to reflect the high demand for units with downtown views. These modifications will create additional entry-level units providing more opportunities for a wider range of buyers.

Chicago-based Mesa Development LLC is the developer.
