Team Selected for Market Square Site

Market Square Partners was selected as the development team for the Market Square Arena site in Indianapolis.

The $140 project will include 400 condominiums, 75,000 sq. ft. of retail space and a public area. Related work will include infrastructure upgrades and parking.

The partnership is headed by Michael Comparato, a vice president with Chicago-based Consoer Townsend Envirodyne Engineers Inc.

Market Square Arena, a former sports and entertainment facility, was demolished in April 2001.

Clarian Laboratory Has Ground Break

Ground was broken for a $65 million laboratory, Indianapolis-based Clarian Health Partners announced.

The 320,000-sq.-ft., six-story facility will be on the north side of the People Mover Canal Station. It will assist Clarian medical professionals who perform almost 7 million laboratory tests each year.

Clarian is a partnership among Methodist Hospital, Indiana University Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children.

A joint venture of Indianapolis-based Wurster Construction and Columbus, Ohio-based Smoot Construction will build the facility. Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures was the designer.

Completion is expected in the spring of 2006.
