GE Breaks Ground For $87M Office

GE Healthcare has broke ground on an $87 million office building in Wauwatosa that will house the company's Information Technologies, Information Management and Ultrasound divisions. The 506,000-sq.-ft. facility will be located in the Milwaukee County Research Park.

GE Healthcare is working with Irgens Development Partners LLC, a Wauwatosa-based development firm, to develop the facility.

Initial occupancy of the new facility, which will house about 2,000 employees, is slated for 2006. GE Healthcare employees moving to the new facility will represent a variety of functions, including engineering, programming, service support, and manufacturing.

The facility, which incorporates green building elements, will be a four-story, steel frame composite structural system with a glass and stone masonry curtain wall system.

The project team includes Irgens Development Partners LLC, Eppstein Uhen Architects and CG Schmidt.
