Vista Condo Work To Last 10 Years
Work on New Port Vista, a 168-unit condominium in Port Washington,
has started and is expected to last a decade.
The condominium development stretches across approximately
27 acres. Construction was anticipated to begin in the fall
with development occurring in four phases during the next
seven to 10 years.
The site's rolling topography allowed for the development
of three building types and 12 floor plans. Living options
include units with walkout basements, lookout basements, lofted
rooms, first story units, second story units and buildings
with either four or six units. The square footage of the units
will range from 1,300 to 3,330 square feet.
Brookfield-based National Survey & Engineering is providing
sitework engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture
services.
Historic Bank Gets Enrichment Award
Legacy Bank, the main depository for Legacy Bancorp, the
only bank holding company in the nation organized by African
American women, has received the Wisconsin Commercial Real
Estate Women's Spirit Award.
The award highlights "a development that breathes life,
heritage and culture into an underutilized area," according
to the organization.
According to the Milwaukee Department of City Development's
2004
Comprehensive Plan for Teutonia and North Avenues, Legacy
Bank is an important part of the reason the area is improving.
CG Schmidt was the construction manager on the project.
Grant Allows Team To Study Courthouse
Architects have been hired to create a
historic structures report for the Manitowoc County Courthouse,
a structure originally built in 1906.
Included on the team are Manitowoc-based Bamco Architects,
Milwaukee-based Kahler Slater Architects and Two Rivers-based
Old Northwest Research.
Manitowoc County was awarded a $24,000 grant from the National
Trust for Historic Preservation to help support the report's
cost. It will assist with the restoration plans for a courthouse,
a landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
