Names In The News - June 2003

William Saltenberger was named president of the Commercial Division for Rosemont, Ill.-based M. Ecker & Co. of Illinois Inc. He was previously senior vice president and western territory manager in the San Francisco office of New York-based AMEC Construction Management Inc.

M. Ecker & Co. of Illinois Inc. is a multiple-trade contractor.

Brookfield, Wis.-based Hunzinger Construction Co. has announced the promotions of Mike Christensen to senior project manager from project manager; Matt Horton, also to senior project manager from project manager; Shem Lemke to project manager from assistant project manager; Marcia Gabriel to director of Hunzinger Construction University while continuing as assistant project manager; and Larry Palank, to vice president of pre-construction services from senior estimator.

Hunzinger Construction Co. is a general contracting, construction management and design-build firm.

Kenneth Snover was named vice president of expositions for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which is jointly based in Chicago and Milwaukee. He was previously manager of marketing communications for Annandale, N.J.-based IR Co.

Randall Bacidore was promoted to partner in charge of design for Chicago-based Matthei & Colin Associates. He was previously senior associate.

Matthei & Colin is an architecture firm that focuses on health-care projects.

Julie Dunne was named vice president of business development and marketing for Westmont, Ill.-based Paul H. Schwendener Inc. She was previously a self-employed business and marketing consultant.

Paul H. Schwendener Inc. is a general contracting firm.

Paul Todd, construction foreman for Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based Milwaukee Lawn Sprinkler Corp., has earned the certified irrigation contractor title from the Fairfax, Va.-based Irrigation Association.

Randy Ziarek has won Regional Sales Manager of the Year award from Sturtevant, Wis.-based Putzmeister America. He handles concrete pump and conveyor sales in eight Midwestern states and a Canadian province.

Putzmeister America is a heavy equipment manufacturer.

Brookfield, Wis.-based National Survey & Engineering has named Ellen Reidy civil engineer in the Regional Mall Group and Sara Arnold civil engineer in the Private Development Practice Group. Reidy was previously an engineer with Milwaukee-based Edwards and Kelcey Inc., and Arnold was previously a civil engineering and surveying intern with Madison, Wis.-based Mayo Corp.

National Survey & Engineering is an engineering, surveying and technical services consultant.


Woodridge, Ill.-based V3 Cos. has announced the promotions of three to principal status: Donald Guerra from managing director, George Schober from vice president and Kestutis "Kesti" Susinskas from director of the Construction Division. Michelle Karpus was promoted to director of marketing communications from marketing communications manager. Michael Blalock was named director of information technology. He was previously director of systems development for Deerfield, Ill.-based Gaylord Container Corp.

V3 Cos. is a consulting, construction and real-estate organization.

Gary Dupuis, vice president of finance for Oak Brook, Ill.-based Krusinski Construction Co., was named 2003 first-quarter winner of the company's Diversify, Improve Grow award. He won for a list of 21 cost-saving ideas.

Krusinski Construction Co. provides comprehensive construction services.

Larry Schreiner, systems leader with Chicago-based Koch Pavement Solutions, was recently elected a director of the Annapolis, Md.-based Asphalt Recycling and Reclaiming Association.

The St. Charles, Ill.-based Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association has announced Jim Engler, president of Des Plaines, Ill.-based The EMJ Cos., and Charles Bub, vice president and general manager of Chicago-based Chicago Metallic Corp., were elected to its 2003-2004 Board of Directors.

Jim Falbo was named director of safety for the Madison-based Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin. He was previously corporate safety director of Madison-based Terra Engineering & Construction Corp.

Andrew Smith, project manager for Cherry Valley, Ill.-based Ringland-Johnson Construction, recently attended a week-long training session in Dallas on project management hosted by the Associated General Contractors of America.
