John Adams Dix was appointed project director/architecture for Chicago-based A. Epstein and Sons International Inc. and will lead design efforts for Mc4West LLC, the design-build team for the McCormick Place West Expansion in Chicago. He was previously managing director and treasurer for Chicago-based DeStefano and Partners.

A. Epstein and Sons International Inc. is an architecture, engineering, construction, interior design and graphic-design firm.

John Herzog was named senior vice president in the Chicago-area office for Marlton, N.J.-based Hill International Inc. He was previously senior vice president and Chicago regional manager for AMEC Construction Management Inc.

Hill International provides project management and construction claims consulting.

Steve Maslen was promoted to senior vice president in Chicago of Bethesda, Md.-based Clark Construction Group Inc. He was previously a vice president.

The Clark Construction Group Inc. is a general contractor.

Bloomington, Ind.-based Weddle Bros. Construction Co. Inc. has announced Jeff Mattix joined the firm as project manager and J. Thomas Medina as estimator. Mattix was previously with Fishers, Ind.-based Bowen Engineering Corp., and Medina was previously project manager for J.A. Jones Management Services Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.

Weddle Bros. Construction Co. is a general-contracting firm.

Rosemont, Ill.-based M. Ecker & Co. has announced Robert Shaw and Tom Stellema joined the company, both as project managers/estimators. Shaw was previously project manager with the Chicago office of AMEC Construction Management Inc., and Stellema was previously project manager for Chicago-based Clune Construction.

M. Ecker & Co. is a multiple-trade contractor.

Perri Irmer was named senior vice president of the Real Estate Division for Chicago-based Mesirow Stein Real Estate Inc. She was previously vice president of Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.

Mesirow Stein Real Estate is a developer.

Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures has announced Kevin Downey was promoted to senior vice president from vice president. Karen Courtney was named director of marketing. She was previously senior associate and director of marketing for the Seattle office of architecture firm NBBJ.

BSA LifeStructures is an architecture and engineering firm.

Victor Judnic was promoted to manager of construction services in Chicago for Muscatine, Iowa-based Stanley Consultants Inc. He was previously civil engineer.

Stanley Consultants Inc. provides engineering, environmental and construction services.

Kathy Bowe was named marketing/communications director of Fond du Lac, Wis.-based J.F. Ahern Co. She was previously a freelance marketing coordinator for Chicago-based Parsons Creek Enterprises.

J.F. Ahern Co. is a mechanical and fire-protection contractor.

Indianapolis-based Continuum Solutions Consulting promoted Kathy Clark to president from senior consultant. Sandra Wilds was hired to lead the clinical and operating planning team. She was previously chief nursing officer at Carmel, Ind.-based St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.

Continuum Solutions Consulting provides planning services for health-care facilities.

Paul Vepraskas has joined Brookfield, Wis.-based R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. as a geographic information systems technician. He was previously a GIS technician with the Milwaukee office of the Bureau of Land Management, a division of the U.S. Department of Labor.

R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. is a civil engineering, surveying and technical-services consultant.

George Malek has joined Woodridge, Ill.-based V3 Infrastructure Services Ltd. as senior construction project manager. He was previously vice president of construction services for Mount Prospect, Ill.-based Peter F. Olesen & Associates Inc.

V3 Infrastructure Services Ltd. provides planning, design and engineering services.

Alsip, Ill.-based McAllister Equipment Co. has named Michael Garrard area manager of the Ingleside store and Paul Hecimovich controller. Garrard was previously a marketing associate for the NASCAR racing circuit, and Hecimovich was previously an accountant with Bridgeview, Ill.-based Crane & Machinery Inc.

McAllister Equipment Co. is a construction-equipment dealer.

The Chicago-based Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys has inducted three new members: Paul Lively of Foran, Glennon, Palandech & Ponzi; Clifford Shapiro of Sachnoff & Weaver; and Kenneth Roberts of Schiff, Hardin & Weaver.
