Richard Tomasetti was elected chairman of the New York-based Thornton-Tomasetti Group Inc. He was previously co-chairman with Charles Thornton, who will continue to be involved with the firm as founding principal. Thorntom-Tomasetti is an engineering and design firm with an office in Chicago.

Adam Berkelhamer was promoted to vice president of Chicago-based Booth Hansen. He was previously an associate. Booth Hansen is an architecture firm.

Patrick Engineering Inc.of Lisle has announced Robert Jones was named vice president of architecture and manager of the Chicago office and Jarrod Cebulski was named transportation project manager. Jones was previously director of the Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Design and Construction, and Cebulski was previously the head of consultant studies with the Illinois Department of Transportation District 1 in Schaumburg. Patrick provides engineering, building design and other services.

CG Schmidt Inc.of Milwaukee has announced Mark Schmidt was promoted to general superintendent, Kenn Kosowicz to project control specialist and Jackie Eicher to assistant project manager. Schmidt was previously assistant general superintendent, Kosowicz was previously cost engineer and Eicher was previously project engineer. CG Schmidt is a general contractor.

Ray Swisher was named strategic accounts manager in the Medical and Research Products Group of Turner Construction Co. in Chicago. He was previously an associate principal in Chicago with Charlotte, N.C.-based HLM Design. Turner Construction is a general contractor.

FCL Builders Inc.of Itasca has announced Larry Jackson was named senior project estimator. He was previously an estimator with Palatine-based Kajima Construction Services. Michael Mrachek was promoted to project manager from assistant project manager, and Michael Larsen was promoted to assistant project manager from project estimator. FCL Builders Inc. is a design-build firm.

Bill Dwyer was promoted to national sales manager of Sturtevant, Wis.-based Putzmeister America. He was previously Eastern Region sales manager. Putzmeister manufactures concrete and material placing equipment.

Lou Tortora Jr.was named manager of global sales and marketing for Long Beach, Calif.-based Earth Tech Inc. and will be based in the firm's Milwaukee office. He was previously senior vice president with Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. in Milwaukee. Earth Tech provides engineering, construction and operations services.

Andrew Perille was named senior project manager of Rosemont-based McShane Construction Corp. He was previously vice president of project manager of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. McShane offers design-build and build-to-suit services.

Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, of Chicago has announced Wissam Mansour was named project architect and Nicole Robinson marketing coordinator. Mansour was previously a designer with Chicago-based Perkins & Will, and Robinson was previously marketing coordinator with Chicago-based Edwards and Kelcey. Loebl is an architecture firm. Ken Welden was promoted to senior project manager from project manager. National Survey & Engineering offers civil engineering, planning and surveying services.

The Association of Equipment Dealers of Milwaukee has announced Charles Foster, executive vice president and general manager of Lee, Ill.-based Sweepster LLC, is a newly elected member of the Board of Directors. John Olsen, president of Waukesha, Wis.-based Metso Minerals Industries, was also recently elected.

R.A. Smith & Associates Inc.of Brookfield, Wis., has announced Ronald Nelsen Jr. was named director of field operations and Christine Carlborg controller. Nelsen was previously a superintendent with Deerfield-based Kiferbaum Construction Co, and Carlborg was previously controller, also with Kiferbaum. Premier offers design-build services.

Valerie Kelley was recently named director of finance of Wheaton-based RJN Group Inc. She was previously regional controller with Earth Tech Inc. in Oak Brook. RJN Group provides public works engineering and information technology services.

The Industrial Contractors and Builders Association of Indiana Inc. of Portage has elected new officers for 2004-2006: President Tom Muchesko, vice president of Homewood, Ill.-based Graycor Industrial Contractors, and Vice President Bill Gorski, vice president of projects of Hammond-based Morrison Construction.Carissa Vlahovich was promoted to project manager from project engineer II. Kiferbaum Construction Corp. offers design-build and build-to-suit services.

Harmon Inc. of Minneapolis has acquired the assets of Bolingbrook-based Architectural Wall Solutions Inc. Harmon and Architectural Wall Solutions provide glass services.

Construction Peer Group Corp.of Bloomingdale has announced an agreement with the St. Louis-based Painting and Decorating Contractors of America to provide an education program to association members.

Dewberry of Fairfax, Va., has announced the acquisition of Peoria-based PSA. Dewberry and PSA are design and engineering firms.
