HIRES

James Garber was named vice president of construction operations of Indianapolis-based Lauth Property Group. He was previously president of Zionsville-based R.L. Turner Corp. Lauth is a development and construction firm.

Legat Architects Inc. of Waukegan has announced C. Smith "Smitty" Cornell was named vice president of business development and Mark DeBiase was named vice president of marketing. Cornell was previously managing director and executive vice president of Fuji Bank in Chicago, and DeBiase was previously director of corporate marketing with Tyco Engineered Products & Services in Itasca. Legat is a design firm.

Patricia Lenius was named vice president of business development of Milwaukee-based Zimmerman Design Group. She was previously an independent consultant for the Rogers Memorial Foundation in Oconomowoc. Zimmerman is an architecture firm.

John Long II was named project director of field operations for the General Building Group of St. Louis-based Alberici Constructors Inc. He previously held field management positions with St. Louis-based McCarthy Building Cos. Alberici provides construction services.

Greg Kiaer was named senior project engineer of Vernon Hills-based STS Consultants Ltd. He was previously project manager with Christian-Roge & Associates Inc. in Chicago. STS is an engineering consulting firm.

James Lippold was named HVAC project manager of Fond du Lac-based J.F. Ahern Co. He was previously installation manager of Johnson Controls in Waukesha. Ahern is a mechanical and fire-protection contractor.

Mortenson Co.of Minneapolis has announced six hires in its Milwaukee office, Sam Durand as project engineer; Jeff Gruhn as project manager; Kim Kroenke as project administrative assistant; Betty Palmer, also as project administrative assistant; Peter Supple as estimator; and Alice Westphal as mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Durand was previously project manager with Fond du Lac-based J.F. Ahern Co., Gruhn was previously project manager with Waukesha-based ASI General Inc., Kroenke was previously office manager with Wauwatosa-based ABC Insulation Inc., Palmer was previously an administrator with West Bend-based Seek Inc., Supple was previously estimator/assistant project manager with Lake Forest, Ill.-based Vacala Construction Inc. and Westphal was previously project manager with Pewaukee-based Total Comfort of Wisconsin. Mortenson is a general contractor.

Loebl Schlossman & Hackl of Chicago has announced Michael Weiner was named project architect and manager and three architectural designers were hired, Nathan Fell, Matthew Genaze and Christine Lofton. Weiner was previously senior project architect of Chicago-based Perkins & Will, Fell was previously an associate of Chicago-based Tigerman McCurry Architects, Genaze was previously a student and Lofton was previously an associate with Lombard-based Advanced Technologies Group. Loebl Schlossman is a design firm.

R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. of Brookfield, Wis., has announced Brian Dubis was named geographic information systems project manager and Tom Flaherty was named project manager. Dubis was previously a GIS services employee with Ruekert & Mielke in Waukesha, and Flaherty was previously civil/site project manager with Phillips, Milewski & Associates in Milwaukee. Smith is a civil engineering, planning and surveying firm.

Veazey Parrott Durkin & Shoulders of Evansville has announced the hires of two project architects, Thomas Cullum and Janet Rozewski. Cullum was previously a project architect with RCI in Evansville, and Rozewski was previously a freelance architect in New Jersey. VPDS is an architecture and engineering firm.

Clinton Selle was named project team leader of Milwaukee-based Bray Associates Architects Inc. He was previously assistant project architect in Milwaukee of Minneapolis-based Hammel, Green and Abrahamson Inc. Bray is a design firm.

Todd Ovard was named project manager of Cedarburg, Wis.-based Groth Design Group Inc. He was previously an associate of Denver-based BurkettDesign Inc. Groth is an architecture firm.

John Vanderwall was named director of sales and marketing for Green Bay-based DeLeers Millwork. He was previously regional sales manager in Green Bay of New Holland, Pa.-based Luxury Custom Cabinetry Group. DeLeers is a supplier of millwork.

PROMOTIONS

Mark Simonides was promoted to operations manager in Chicago of New York-based Turner Construction Co. He was previously deputy operations manager. Turner is a general builder.

Jeffrey Nudi was advanced to associate principal in St. Louis of Grand Island, N.Y.-based Cannon Design. He was previously manager of engineering. Cannon is an architecture firm.

Ken Stromdahl was promoted to senior project manager for glass services in Chicago of Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Harmon Inc. He was previously project manager. Harmon provides glazing services.

Jon Close was elevated to director of architectural and commercial sales of Wausau-based Linetec. He was previously regional sales manager for architectural sales. Linetec is an architectural metals finishing company.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

Jeff Loyall was appointed director of health care in Chicago of New York-based Turner Construction Co. He remains a vice president of the organization. Turner is a general builder.

James Morgan was elected chairman of the board of the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis. He is the principal and president of St. Louis-based Subsurface Constructors Inc.

Daniel Votaw has been elected president of the Fort Wayne-based Building Contractors Association. He is president and owner of Votaw Electric Inc.,
also in Fort Wayne.

COMPANY NEWS

Skender Construction Co. of Palos Hills has formed Skender Interiors Group LLC and hired two executives to head it, Justin Brown as executive vice president and
Bill Mildice
as superintendent. Both were previously with Chicago-based Pepper Construction Co., Brown as project executive and Mildice as superintendent.

Henneman, Raufeisen and Associates Inc. of Champaign
has changed its name to Henneman Engineering Inc.
