HIRES

Clayco of St. Louis has announced Paul Giacoletto was hired as vice president and Andrew Christoff as project engineer. Giacoletto was previously vice president of Orchard Development Group in St. Louis, and Christoff was previously project engineer intern with Tarlton Corp. in St. Louis. Clayco provides design and construction services.

Lucien Lagrange Architects of Chicago has announced the appointments of
Michael Karlovitz as associate principal; Alfredo Marr as associate and project manager; and Young Chai and Bryce Hanna as senior architects. Karlovitz
remains as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Architecture at
the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Marr was previously associate
and project manager of Chicago-based Teng & Associates, Chai was previously project architect in Chicago with Long Beach, Calif.-based Earth Tech and Hanna
was previously a designer with Chicago-based DeStefano + Partners. Lagrange
is a design firm.

Bill VanCleef Jr. was named vice president/director of sales and marketing of Hammond-based Carlson-Ried Builders Inc. He was previously outside senior representative of Inland (Mittal) Steel in East Chicago, Ind. Carlson-Ried is a commercial and industrial construction firm.

Tom Prescott was named senior vice president of development in Northbrook of Milwaukee-based Irgens Development Partners. He was previously senior vice president of Chicago-based Higgins Development Partners. Irgens is a development firm.

Enza Parrella has joined Chicago-based OWP/P as senior project director and
senior associate. She was previously a vice president of Griswold, Heckel & Kelly Associates. OWP/P is an architecture firm.

Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum Inc. of St. Louis has announced Eric Hoffman was named designer and Angela Poe interiors technician. Hoffman was previously designer with Minneapolis-based Hammel, Green and Abrahamson Inc., and Poe was previously a designer with St. Louis-based Chiodini Associates. HOK is an architecture firm.

John Giesecke was named senior project manager of Westmont-based Morgan/Harbour Construction. He was previously changer order manager
and estimator with Turner Construction Co. in Chicago. Morgan/Harbour is a design/build contractor.

Jim Colbrook was named IE Consultants Inc. as chief roadway engineer. He was previously senior engineer with Green & Bradford Co. in Springfield, Ill. IE is a civil engineering consultant.

M.A. Mortenson Co. of Brookfield, Wis., has announced Joe Bracken was
hired as field engineer and Mark Tomsyck as project manager. Bracken was previously project manager for Regency Development in Pewaukee, and
Tomsyck was previously project manager for C.G. Schmidt Inc. in Milwaukee. Mortenson is a general contractor.

Sharon Quam was named interiors project manager of Oak Brook-based Ware Malcomb. She was previously project manager of Oak Brook-based Witney Inc.
Ware Malcomb provides architecture and interior service services.

Allison End was named marketing coordinator of Chicago-based
Bowman, Barrett & Associates Inc
. She was previously a high school
teacher in New York. Bowman Barrett is an engineering firm.

PROMOTIONS

Wight & Co. of Darien has announced the promotion of Patrick Cermak to
executive vice president and director of operations from group president of construction. Kenneth Osmun assumes these duties. He was previously vice president and chief operations officer. Wight provides construction and
design-build services.

A. Epstein and Sons International Inc. of Chicago has announced that
John Patelski, Jim Jirsa
and Michael Damore will add to their responsibilities
with becoming executive managing directors. Each will continue in his current position, Patelski as president, Damore as senior executive vice president and Damore as chief financial officer. Epstein provides architecture, engineering and construction services.

Solomon Cordwell Buenz of Chicago has announced the promotions of three to vice president, Brett Boaz, Christine Carlyle and Steve Olson. Each was previously an associate. SCB is a design firm.

Bowman, Barrett & Associates Inc. in Chicago has announced the promotions of Richard Stafford to vice president and Jeffrey Jackowski to assistant vice president. Stafford was previously civil engineering department manager, and Jackowski was previously construction department manager. Bowman Barrett is an engineering firm.

Rocquin "Roc" Van Guilder was advanced to vice president in the Matteson office of Springfield, Ill.-based Hanson Professional Services Inc. He is a senior project manager. Hanson provides architecture, engineering and management services.

Dave Riley was advanced to president of Kenosha-based Riley Construction Co. Inc. He was previously vice president of operations. Riley Construction provides building services.

HGA Architects and Engineers of Minneapolis has announced the promotions
of four in Milwaukee to associate vice president, Dave Janous, Roger Lautz,
Dave Noelck
and Jay Oleson. Janous is a medical planner, Lautz is a
mechanical engineer, Noelck is an architect and Oleson is an electrical engineer.
HBA is an architecture and engineering firm.

Chad Schakelman was promoted to project manager of Janesville-based
J.P. Cullen & Sons Inc
. He was previously estimator. Cullen is a general contractor.

Mike Steiner was promoted to project manager of Brookfield, Wis.-based
R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. He was previously project engineer.
Smith provides civil engineering, planning and surveying services.

Bob Kolcz was promoted to project manager of Deerfield-based Meridian Design Build. He was previously project engineer II. Meridian provides construction and design services.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

Patrick O'Neill, a plumbing instructor at Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend, Wis., was named a Craft Instructor of the Year by the Washington, D.C.-based Associated Builders and Contractors.

Bob Morreale was named executive director of the Concrete Contractors Association of Greater Chicago. He was previously an associate with Sears Roebuck and Co.

COMPANY NEWS

Magellan Development Group of Chicago has merged with Chicago-based NNP Residential & Development under the Magellan banner. Joel Carlins and James Loewenberg will serve as co-chairman of the firm.

Hard Hat Services of Naperville has acquired Chesterton, Ind.-based Harrington Engineering & Construction. Hard Hat is a general contractor.
