HIRES

Edward Scopel was named associate of Indianapolis-based Ratio Architects Inc. He was previously associate campus architect with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ratio is a design firm.

Charles Davis was named branch manager in Indianapolis of Porter, Ind.-based McDaniel Fire Systems. He was previously a manager for Siemens Building Technologies in Buffalo Grove. McDaniel provides fire protection services.

STS of Vernon Hills, Ill., has announced the additions in Green Bay of David Atkins as senior project engineer, Paul Fontecchio also as senior project engineer and Matt Geurts as assistant project engineer. Atkins was previously project engineer for efj Consulting Engineers in Green Bay, Fontecchio was previously project engineer with the city of Green Bay and Geurts was previously design engineer for R.E. Lee & Associates in Green Bay. STS provides site planning, design and construction engineering.

OKW Architects of Chicago has announced Frank DeLaRosa was named project architect and Patrick Danaher and Peter Truitt were each named associates. DeLaRosa was previously project coordinator with Alamo Architects in San Antonio, Danaher was previously project manager/project architect of Chicago-based Farr Associates and Truitt was previously architect-in-training with Chicago-based Teng & Associates. OKW is a design firm.

V3 Cos. of Woodridge has announced Scott Brejcha was named project manager/ecologist in the Wetland & Ecology Services Group and Vincent Del Medico was named project manager in the Transportation Group. Brejcha was previously ecological and environmental services manager for Raisanen & Associates in Arlington Heights, and Del Medico was previously project manager with Transystems in Chicago. V3 provides infrastructure and land-related needs.

Hastings & Chivetta Architects of St. Louis has announced three architects were hired, Megan Atha, Andre Gray and Bing Lui. Atha and Gray were previously students, and Lui was previously project captain with Carey & Co. Inc. in San Francisco. Hastings & Chivetta is a design firm.

Vierbicher Associates Inc. of Reedsburg, Wis., has announced the addition of six staff: Christine Dettman as receptionist/administrative assistant; Phil Gaebler as project engineer; Adrian Hanson as project engineer; Matt Muchow as project engineer; Suzanne Snyder as landscape architect; and Theresa Stewart as building inspector dispatcher/administrative assistant. Dettman was previously an employee of King Pharmaceuticals in Middleton, Wis.; Gaebler was previously a student; Hanson was previously a student; Muchow was previously a student; Snyder was previously a student; and Stewart was previously an employee of Henschue Construction in Madison. Vierbicher provides consulting services to guide development.

M.A. Mortenson Co. of Minneapolis has announced the additions in Milwaukee of Bradley Farrow as assistant project engineer and Jenny Tews as project administrative assistant. Farrow was previously sales representative for General Beverage Sales Co., and Tews was previously operations analyst for Quikrete in Sussex, Wis. Two field engineers were hired, Angie Helfert and Chad Pape. Both were previously students. Mortenson is a general contractor.

PROMOTIONS

Pepper Construction Co. of Chicago has announced the promotion of J. Scot Pepper to senior vice president from vice president. Also, three were promoted to vice president, Jennifer Green from controller; Michelle Lieb from director human resources; and Vick Parikh from project executive. Pepper provides general contracting and construction management experience.

Rupert Graham was named superintendent of highways for Cook County. He was previously assistant superintendent.

Ted Strand was named principal of Chicago-based Solomon Cordwell Buenz. He was previously vice president. SCB is a design firm.

E. Steven Helms was named president of Chicago-based Austin AECOM. He was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer. Austin AECOM is an engineering, architecture and construction firm.

Dale Coenen was named vice president of construction of Appleton, Wis.-based AZCO Inc. He was previously site superintendent and project manager. AZCO provides mechanical and general construction services.

Ron Rolfes was named operations executive of St. Louis-based Clayco. He was previously project director. Clayco provides development, design and construction services.

Nahid Keltner was named project manager in Milwaukee of Minneapolis-based M.A. Mortenson Co. She was previously assistant project manager. Mortenson is a general contractor.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

Mark Bengard was named outstanding engineer in construction by the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. He is senior vice president of Olivette, Mo.-based Murphy Co., a mechanical contractor.

Robert Bukowsky has received the 2007 Associate Award from the National Association of Electrical Distributors in St. Louis. He is vice president of sales in Sycamore, Ill., of St. Louis-based Ideal Industries Inc., a manufacturer of electrical products.

Mark Sekula was named to the board of the Houston-based International Facility Management Association. He is associate principal and senior facility strategist of Milwaukee-based Kahler Slater, a design firm.

Jen Stauber was appointed to the University City Board of Adjustments in Missouri. She is an architectural designer with St. Louis-based Trivers Associates.
