Tim Jeffers was named director of business development and community affairs of Indianapolis-based CSO Architects Inc. He was previously a public affairs officer with the U.S. Army. CSO is a design firm.

Scott Gurholt was named marketing director of Kenosha-based Riley Construction Co. Inc. He was previously marketing team leader of Kansas City, Mo.-based HNTB Corp. Riley is a contracting firm.

Daniel McHale was named senior project scientist of Vernon Hills-based STS. He was previously principal hydrogeologist with Shannon & Wilson Inc. in Seattle. STS provides site planning, design and construction engineering.

HOK of St. Louis has announced the additions of Barry Sutherland as marketing coordinator and Joseph Vickery as architectural technician. Previously, Sutherland was marketing strategist for Success Group International in Clayton, and Vickery was a student. HOK is a design firm.

Michael Garringer was named project manager of Indianapolis-based Cripe Architects + Engineers. He was previously architect/project Manager with Carson Design Associates in Carmel.

Valenti Builders Inc. of Northfield, Ill., has announced the additions of two project managers, Michael Cottick and Steve Truty. Previously, Cottick was director of construction manager with Matocha Associates in Oak Brook, and Truty was a student. Valenti is a contractor.

Harley Ellis Devereaux of Detroit has announced the additions in Chicago of G. Iain Dickie as project manager and E. Kent Mitchell as associate. Previously, Dickie was a project manager with Chipman Adams + Defilippis Architects in Park Ridge, and Mitchell was an associate in Harley’s Cincinnati office. HED is a design firm.

Michael Smith was named design-build engineer of Fenton, Mo.-based Kaiser Electric Inc. He was previously project manager/estimator for Schaeffer Electric Co. in St. Louis. Kaiser is an electrical contractor.

R.A. Smith National of Brookfield, Wis., has announced John Gauthier was named civil engineer and Justin Schueler was named traffic engineer. Both were previously students. Smith provides civil engineering, surveying and other services.

Ryan Clay was named assistant project manager of Wood River, Ill.-based Helmkamp Construction Co. He was previously a student. Helmkamp is a contractor.

Trivers Associates of St. Louis has announced the additions of Emily Garrett and Krista Lombardi each as architectural designer I. Both were previously students. Trivers is an architecture firm.

PROMOTIONS

Wight & Co. of Darien has announced the promotions of Brad Paulsen to vice president, business development; Steve Collins to vice president, government programs; and Elizabeth Koski to vice president, marketing communications. Previously, Paulsen was vice president, K-12 market leader; Collins was director, public sector; and Koski was director, marketing and communications. Wight provides design-build, construction-management and other services.

HOK of St. Louis has announced the promotions of two to vice president, William Burmeister and John Cannon. Previously, Burmeister was project architect, and Cannon was laboratory architect. David Ziolkowski was named senior associate. He was previously project lighting designer. HOK is a design firm.

Tweet/Garot Mechanical Inc. of Green Bay has announced the promotions of David Carter to division manager-HVAC; Mark Hill to division manager-sheet metal, industrial ventilation and boilermaker services; and Jerry Mancheski to division manager-industrial piping in Green Bay, Wisconsin Rapids and Michigan offices. Previously, Carter was project manager, Hill was project manager and Mancheski was manager of industrial piping.

KAI Design & Build of St. Louis has announced the promotions of Diane Patterson to manager of business development operations and Cindy Bright to manager of marketing & corporate communications. Both were previously senior marketing specialists.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

James Schellinger was elected chairman and CEO of Indianapolis-based CSO Architects Inc. He returns to the firm after running for governor of Indiana. Alan Tucker, who previously served as interim president during Schellinger’s absence, was appointed president and COO. Daniel Moriarity and John Rigsbee were appointed executive vice presidents. Aaron Haschel was named principal and corporate/commercial studio leader, and Rosemary Rehak was named to head a division focusing on pre K-12 and higher education. CSO is a design firm.

Grant Lanham, operations specialist for St. Louis-based Vertegy, was appointed vice president of the St. Louis chapter of the International Facility Management Association. Vertegy is a sustainable consulting firm.
