HIRES

Kevin Sullivan was named pre-construction director in Indianapolis of Parsippany, N.J.-based Skanska USA Building Inc. He was previously chief estimator of Fort Wayne-based Hagerman Construction Co. Skanska is a contractor.

Mortenson Construction Co. of Minneapolis has announced the additions in Milwaukee of Tony Erickson as field engineer, Arick Groth, also as field engineer, Doug Mortenson as safety director and Crystal Rehm as project administrative assistant. Previously, Erickson was an engineer in the firm’s Energy Group, Groth was also an engineer in the Energy Group, Mortenson was global environmental health and safety program coordinator for Kohler Co. in Kohler, Wis., and Rehm was an office manager for Madison-based American Family Insurance. Mortenson Construction is a contractor.

J.P. Cullen & Sons Inc. of Janesville, Wis., has announced the additions of Marc Gonsiorowski as named project manager and Tim Ahner as PC support specialist. Previously, Gonsiorowski was a senior plant engineer with General Motors Corp. in Janesville, and Ahner was a network specialist with AT&T in Madison, Wis. Cullen is a contractor.

Timothy Marcum was named construction inspector of St. Louis-based Kwame Building Group. He was previously an employee of Pasadena, Calif.-based Parsons Engineering Corp. Kwame is a contractor.

Asha Patil was named project manager of Chicago-based Eckenhoff Saunders Architects. She was previously a project manager with Chicago-based OWP/P. Eckenhoff Saunders is a design firm.

Paikawan “Pom” Schmitt was named project architect and associate in Chicago of Detroit-based SmithGroup. She was previously project architect in Chicago of San Francisco-based Gensler. SmithGroup is a design firm.

Craig Louer was named project executive of Sitton Consulting Group in Belleville, Ill. He was previously assistant superintendent for Edwardsville Community School District 7 in Southern Illinois. Sitton provides construction management and management consulting.

Arno Sandoval was named architectural specialist of St. Louis-based KAI Design & Build. He was previously an architect and Revit implementer for Bozoian Group Architect in St. Louis.

Ray Peters was named technical services representative of Chicago-based American Hydrotech Inc. He was previously an employee in the technical department of Fernley, Nev.-based Polyglass USA. American Hydrotech provides waterproofing and roofing products.

PROMOTIONS

Rebecca Nolan was named senior vice president and principal of St. Louis-based HOK. She was previously senior vice president and managing director of Minneapolis of Detroit-based SmithGroup. HOK is a design firm.

Rod Vickroy was named principal in Chicago of Detroit-based SmithGroup. He was previously design director. SmithGroup is a design firm.

Mark Ellerbusch was named project manager of O’Fallon, Mo.-based Paric Group. He was previously senior project engineer. Paric is a contractor.

Tvsdesign of Atlanta has announced the promotions in Chicago of two to associate, David Russell and Melissa Sharp. Previously, Russell was an intern architect, and Sharp was an interior designer. Tvsdesign is architecture firm.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

Enrique Escalante was elected chairman of the Skokie-based Portland Cement Association and will service a two-year term. He is the president of Denver-based GCC.

Joan Kaufman was elected president of the Illinois Chapter of the Washington, D.C.-based American Society of Interior Designers and will serve until 2010. She is president of Naperville-based Interior Planning and Design Inc.

Richard Laughlin, founder of St. Louis-based Midwest Testing, has received an honorary professional degree by the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. The university awards honorary to those who make a significant impact on their profession. Midwest Testing provides environmental geotechnical services.

COMPANY NEWS

Graef of Milwaukee is the name of the company formerly known as Graef, Anhalt, Schloemer & Associates Inc. The change was made to simplify the name. Graef is an engineering consulting firm.

Thornton Tomasetti of New York has moved its office in Chicago to 330 N. Wabash Ave. in the 60611 ZIP code. The phone (312-596-2000) and fax (312-596-2001) numbers have not changed. Thornton Tomasetti is a structural engineering firm.
