| Perkins Eastman Makes Six Senior-Level Promotions in Chicago
Ted Moudis Associates, HNTB, RS&H, PSA-Dewberry, and SAK Construction hire new high-level managers or directors

Paul Darby has joined Ted Moudis Associates (TMA) as senior associate and director of the company’s Chicago office. Darby brings 25 years of experience in management, marketing, business development and corporate strategic positioning to TMA. He has conducted marketing and business development in the professional services industries for much of his career.
Greg Wellman has joined engineering firm HNTB as national director of aviation planning. He brings more than 25 years of experience to the role, and will serve on the leadership team of HNTB’s national aviation practice. Wellman, a certified commercial pilot, was previously with Ricondo & Associates, where he provided aviation management and strategic consulting services.
Preston Keefe has joined facilities and infrastructure consultant RS&H as the transportation and public infrastructure program leader in its Naperville, Ill., office. Keefe’s hiring expands the company’s services to include planning, design, environmental and program management support to clients in the area, according to Joe Debs, senior vice president and director of RS&H’s transportation and public infrastructure programs. Keefe has more than 31 years of experience in transportation engineering and has been responsible for many high-profile transportation projects in metropolitan Chicago. He most recently was director of operations for a transportation staff of more than 45 serving clients in the areas of highways, bridges, airports, rail and transit.
Steve J. Hirtz has joined pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling contractor SAK Construction LLC, O’Fallon, Mo., as vice president of rehabilitation operations. Hirtz previously was general manager for a major pipe service firm in Missouri. He has more than 25 years of experience with cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), tunneling, and other trenchless technologies.
Michael E. Novotney , water resources engineer, has rejoined Baxter & Woodman Inc., Crystal Lake, Ill., as a project manager. He had left the firm in 2006 to join the Center for Watershed Protection in Ellicott City, Md., where he worked closely with watershed and environmental groups and local, state and federal government agencies to support watershed-based initiatives aimed at preserving and restoring natural resources.
Scott Muentnich has joined Poettker Construction Co., Breese, Ill., as a project manager. He is a LEED-accredited professional whose experience includes working for Holland Construction, St. Louis University, and the Korte Co.
Kirsten FV Binder has joined PSA-Dewberry as business development director in the firm’s Chicago office. Binder’s ten years of marketing experience includes eight years of business development in the architecture, engineering, and construction marketplace.
Mead & Hunt , an architectural, engineering, and planning firm headquartered in Madison, Wis., has added seven new employees to its Midwest offices. New in its Madison, Wis., office are architectural CAD technician Craig Guse, mechanical-plumbing designer Shane Riphenburg, civil engineer Kamal Gautam, architectural CAD technician Michael Lynch, and mechanical engineer Scott Brabender. In Lansing, Mich., is airfield electrical engineer Bill Ropposch. And in Minneapolis, is senior airport planner Andrew Olson.
Benjamin Mattson has joined American Engineering Testing Inc. (AET) as a staff engineer at its Schofield, Wis., office. He provides geotechnical and materials engineering services. He brings three years of geotechnical engineering experience to his new position.

Perkins Eastman an architecture and design company, has announced senior-level promotions in its Chicago office. Jerry R. Walleck has been promoted to principal. He has been with the company more than 20 years and was key in opening its Chicago office in 2002. Jason R. Dobbin has been promoted to senior associate. Promoted to associate are Jason K. Alm, Emily S. Carter, Ami Kelly, JinHwa (Gina) Paradowicz.
Dan Whalen has been named assistant vice president at Hanson Professional Services Inc., Springfield, Ill. A geotechnical engineer, he joined the firm in 1987 and serves as a project manager specializing in working with power-generation clients.
Brian Ward has been promoted to senior field supervisor at Geotechnology Inc., St. Louis. Ward joined the company in 2002 as a construction materials testing field representative.

Pam Hobbs, business development representative at Geotechnology Inc., St. Louis, has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) exam in new construction, to become a LEED Accredited Professional. She has been with Geotechnology Inc. since 2007 and has more than 15 years of experience in the industry.
Matt Hurr , Austin Rennick and Jim Boyanchek of KJWW Engineering Consultants, Rock Island, Ill., have earned LEED Accredited Professional status. They are among the first professionals in the country to receive the new “LEED AP Building Design + Construction” credential, which replaces LEED AP for New Construction. The three were in a beta testing group for the new LEED version 3.0. KJWW now employs 75 LEED professionals.
Joseph A. Gleba , partner, Genevra D. Knight , manager, and Randall J. Ellis , senior accountant, of the accounting firm Porte Brown, Elk Grove Village, Ill., have recently earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation, The certification indicates expertise in managing complex issues unique to construction industry taxation and financial reporting, according to Porte Brown managing partner Bruce G. Jones, Russell J. Wilson, a partner in the firm, also holds the CCIFP certification.
Eric L. Kees , and Mary J. Hirsch , mechanical engineering designers and Jacob A. Hahn , civil engineering designer, all of Durrant, have earned LEED professional accreditation. Durrant is an architecture, engineering and construction firm in Des Moines, Iowa.

Paric Corp. , O’Fallon, Mo., has been accepted into the St. Louis Construction OSHA Partnership, a program that recognizes contractors with safety and health programs that exceed OSHA standards. To participate in the OSHA Partnership, Paric has met requirements that include having an established written safety and health program, detailed evidence of safety program implementation and full compliance with OSHA regulations and requirements. Accepted companies also must integrate safety and health into employee training and awareness programs, then demonstrate the effectiveness of the program through a site visit.
Caterpillar , Peoria, Ill., recently relaunched its power-generation Web site, www.cat-electricpower.com. The new site has been designed so users can find electric power information when in the process of configuration, installation or operation. The Web site now includes maintenance tips and installation solutions as well as detailed product specifications, industry news and safety material specific to the power industry.
Dirtfill.com , a Web site connecting those with excess fill and those who need it, now operates in the Chicago metro area. Though new to Chicago, the site is already established in other parts of the US. Receivers can have clean dirtfill material delivered free, and contractors save money in search time and by trucking to closer sites, according to Kelby Bailey, vice president of marketing for Cut & Fill Inc., the 23-year-old company that sponsors DirtFill.com. “DirtFill.com has been successfully serving clients in Minneapolis - St. Paul for 10 years, Dallas - Fort Worth for 3 years and Seattle for the past 2 years”, Bailey says. The site searches by ZIP code and sorts results by distance.
