Hydraulic excavator

Caterpillar recently introduced the 321C LCR Hydraulic Excavator. The new C-Series excavator features a compact swing radius for high productivity in tight areas such as near buildings, on highways where lane closures must be limited, and on logging roads.

The 321C LCR offers improved performance through increased horsepower and hydraulic flow, a larger cab for improved comfort and excellent visibility and factory installed auxiliary hydraulics for expanded versatility.

The new excavator has been designed to rotate with little to none of the counterweight extending beyond its tracks. Tail swing radius is only 5 ft. 6 in. (1.67 m) To minimize the working envelope even further, the boom is positioned farther back in the upper frame as compared to a standard excavator. The design reduces the front swing radius when the boom is pulled up for easier operation in limited spaces.

Portable light tower

Allmand recently introduced the new Maxi-Lite 15330 and 20330 portable light towers. Designed with 15- and 20-kilowatt AVR regulated generators, the new models provide power for a variety of auxiliary equipment requiring motor starting and tight voltage regulation. These models deliver enough energy for temporary work trailers, pumps, additional lighting or other job-site equipment.

Featuring Allmand's SHO lighting system, the Maxi-Lite models generate up to 50 percent more lumens per fixture than competitive light towers. Providing up to 7,500 watts, the models are available with four or six SHO fixtures carrying metal-halide or high-pressure sodium lights. An optional Saf-T-Visor attachment reflects previously wasted light directly onto the work site. Rotating 360 degrees, the new models adjust easily from the ground to meet the needs of virtually any application.

Mat system

SOLOCO, LLC has introduced its newest product, BRAVO Mat System, a versatile temporary surface for access and staging over soft soils or delicate surfaces. Initially developed to meet the need for rapidly deployable portable flooring and work sites for military command tents and forward operations, the mats can be used in a variety of applications, such as general construction, emergency response support, golf course and landscape maintenance.

The 48 in. by 48 in. mats weigh 50 pounds each, include four integrated twist lock fasteners retained within the unit, and require a hex head wrench to lock the mats in place. A two-man crew can layout and install a 20 ft. by 50 ft. floor in less than an hour.

The product can support normal vehicle traffic, provides all-weather walkways, ground cover, and other applications. Rubberized surfaces on both sides of the mat provide superior traction as well as resistance to weather, oil and chemicals. The modular nature of the mats allows for installation around trees, columns and other existing structures.
