Flad Architects of Madison, Wis., has been selected by UW Health to design a new 6,300-sq-ft simulation center in support of the new UW Health Clinical Simulation Program.
Health care simulation is a growing field and more credentialing organizations are requiring simulation training as part of the curriculum.
With a new simulation center, UW Health will take advantage of the latest simulation techniques and technologies to promote the sharing of clinical knowledge and skills.
The simulation center will be designed and constructed to meet all criteria in order to be successfully certified as an American College of Surgeons Level 1 Comprehensive Education Institute.
Scheduled for completion in mid-2011, the center will be constructed within the Clinical Sciences Center, which houses the UW Hospital and Clinics.
